Up for sale is a Dominion CD 164 in the [070] EIN with a rather heavy copper tie wire. The insulator itself is nothing to write home about, but its original wire is rather impressive. This example is one of many that I had obtained over a decade ago when the power infrastructure in London, Ontario was being swiftly rebuilt by London Hydro. Now very, very little of this early line work remains and I'm happy I was able to rescue a bit years ago. The conductor on this piece is a stranded cable, while the tie wire is solid copper. Some of the original cloth covering remains intact but much has weathered away after several decades of harsh Canadian winters and hot, humid S.W. Ontario summers. The insulator has a 1/2" by 3/8" inner skirt chip behind the left mold line. Since the piece is more about the tie wire than the insulator, I'll leave it up to you to decide how significant this damage is. Let's try $15 USD plus shipping for this piece. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
