Here is a CD 145 EIN [170] (F‑Crown) (Arc)W. BROOKFIELD/NEW YORK (R‑Crown) B/PAT.NOV. 13TH. 1883/ " FEB. 12TH. 1884 {MLOD} SB in Blue. There are lots of variable white milk swirls and veils giving the color an overall jadey appearance. There is also a fine black thread in the rear crown behind the B, which I believe is SNB1 in Lee Brewer's excellent book on CREB beehives (https://www.insulators.info/books/creb-reference.htm). But the real eye catcher is the large bubble in the rear skirt. Damage is limited to a ding in front after YORK and a short stress fracture to the inner skirt. This is an uncommon shop number in an uncommon color with uncommon character. Asking $50 plus postage. |
