Up for sale is a pair of unusual Canadian ponies, both with sharp drips. Canadian ponies were used in enormous numbers across Canadian rural landscapes alongside their American-made brethren such as Brookfield CD 102s and Hemingray CD 106s. Typically these American styles are sharp-dripped, but for whatever reason very few of the Canadian examples surface with sharp drips. Here are two such oddities. At left is a Diamond in the [050] EIN with vertical bars on both skirts. This example is the most common light aqua shade, though it does have some nice straw marks all over. This one appears to be VNM with just one partly flaked drip (which was actually hard to spot), and the very tip of another drip that has an open bubble on it. How about $12 USD + shipping for this example. On the right is an example of the scarce No Embossing - Canada [050] with oft inwards-tipped drips and a reputation for thick, heavy glass that doesn't generally surface in other Canadian ponies. These saw limited use in the Canadian prairies and, to the best of my knowledge, don't usually turn up elsewhere in Canada. This example has 5 partially flaked drips, and a heavy scratch and 1/8" ping on one side of the crown (visible in the upper photo) along with perhaps 15 or so tiny micro-fleabites. There is also a small flake on the front skirt just off the base edge on the side opposite the fleabites. While it isn't exactly mint, it is an example of this tougher style to fill a gap in your pony collection. I'm now asking $28 USD + shipping for this example. Let's try the pair for $34 USD + shipping. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
