Found this pic somewhere on the 'net; this was likely taken just about the time the dike surrounding the Lincoln Drive neighborhood gave way, allowing the Red to flood almost all of Grand Forks. If one looks closely, the old downtown NSP substation (at or near the site of the old Red River Power plant) was still extant then; it was replaced by expansions at two other substations.
