Here's a rare British made Fuller Cone Patent No 2 Style (Patented 1878) porcelain insulator with the unlisted (in GIFONA and NIA website) incuse marking: "P. Walters & Co." (Front) "F.CS" (Reverse). This example was exported to Argentina and miraculously survived all these years. Was used on the broad gauge Ferrocariles del Sud (FCS) or Great Southern Railway founded in 1862. Measures 4 1/2" wide by 3 7/8" tall. Missing the vulcanized rubber coated porcelain inner shed which was originally pressed into the threadless pinhole. Has tie wire rub marks, 1/2 pinky nail flake (seen in pic) and 3 teeny tic marks. Only one was used per pole at the very top and they typically broke when the pole was removed or changed out. Even rare in England! First email that says they will buy it gets this rarely seen or offered P. Walters & Co. insulator for only $675 plus shipping. Can accept payment divided into 3 monthly payments. Thanks! |
