An abandoned expanded-steel transmission pole looms over the distribution line that replaced it in early 2019. The original line was built in 1925, carrying power from a dam in the Big Thompson Canyon down to the city of Loveland, CO to serve its then new municipal utility. The dam was totaled in the 2013 Front Range floods, prompting the city to replace its 2400V delta, 4160/2400V wye, and 22.9kV delta lines with a new 12.5kV distribution system.
