Most of what you see here likely was for fire alarm telegraph and electric lighting service. The latter was owned by the Weymouth Light and Power Company. A handful of CD 134 Diamond-P insulators have been located in this community. For many years the electric company office stood to the left of where the photographer took this image. Behind it was the utility's dump. In 1970 I had the opportunity to poke around just before a couple apartment buildings were built on the site and I found two aqua Diamond-P's in fair condition. Old timers told me that untold thousands of insulators remained when the building's concrete foundation was poured on much of the dumpsite.
