Here's a pair of unusual French eared insulators. The glass one is embossed "FOL." (upside down) and has an internal crack (seen in pic). Displays perfectly from reverse side. The porcelain one is unmarked and mint condition. These were used with a nail that was hammered through the center hole to secure to a pole or building. They were designed to be used for change in direction of electrical wire (i.e., from horizontal to vertical). The porcelain examples can be readily found and have been made by French and Spanish manufacturers. The glass ones were made by Folembray and are rarely seen and come in two sizes. The glass one measures 1 3/8" tall. The porcelain is 1 1/4" tall. First email gets this pair of unusual French eared insulators for only $100 plus $8 shipping. Thanks! |
