This was one of around three or four main telegraph routes that extended southeast-to-southwest from Boston. By around 1920 these lines were rebuilt with new poles and wire. This new construction typically featured hard-drawn copper wire strung on 10-pin crossarms upon new (usually cedar) poles. Double petticoat insulators were reused if they were in good condition and were of Western Union Standard styles (i.e., CD 145 and 152). |
