Nice view of some early six-pin telegraph line construction that was typical in the Northeast from the 1890s through around 1920. Usually connections from the pole to the telegrapher's office in RR stations were via a single cloth-covered cable containing a number of individually insulated wires. In this instance it is interesting to see individual open wire leading from the pole to the station entrance. Notice the crossarm with insulators upon it above the entryway serving as a deadend for the wires. That must have been a really cool sight!
