I remember this image on an electrical supply calendar in the late 1960s at a small municipal electric utility that I loved to hang out at. It was on the wall in the stock keeper's office. He was an older gentleman who always smoked a pipe. I would sit in the other chair as he would commonly put his feet up on his wooden desk and talk about the "old days"...then.

This was the late Ken Borland who worked at the Hull (MA) Municipal Lighting Plant from sometime in the early 1930s until 1970. This seashore utility used a lot of blue porcelain insulators decades earlier on their system. It was a real treasure hunt going through their junk pile finding them! Ken and the rest of the people there always treated me very kindly and were instrumental in furthering and enhancing my interest in insulators as I was growing up.

..And by the way, I still have almost all of the ones that I gathered from Hull Light :-)
