I thought I'd share this shot of a crowded pole I spotted still in service in Toronto back when I lived there in 2014. There were several poles like this one still up back then.

From what I can see, there are at least a few M-2140s on the top arm, along with a squatty Thomas (?) two-part. As Toronto has been the source of at least one of the few known M-2140 Johns-Manville made by New Lexington, I wonder if any of these could be those. These M-2140s are likely left from the earliest days of electrification in Toronto, and pre-date the formation of the provincially-owned Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario in the late 19-oughts.

All of the uniparts look like common Canadian Ohio Brass sky tone pieces and 1910s-40s Canadian Porcelain signals with mottled brown glazes.

I tried speaking to some line crews I spotted around the city about having someone swap them out for me, but it seems the beer wrench doesn't work too well these days. I sure hope someone can get these ones!
