Neat crude old 1871 Patent 120 in a bright turquoise. A loose fit between the mandrel and the skirt cheeks of the mold allowed still-soft glass to squeeze out between the two and form a thin cylindrical wall. Most got chipped away during the insulator's life, but much remains, causing an unsightly lean that may be found offensive by some viewers.
