There probably was a higher voltage circuit upon the pole line along the left as evidenced by the three somewhat larger glass insulators that are upon each crossarm. Perhaps this line was for electric transmission or supply for the trolley line that went through this Maine community's business district. Also note the telephone open wire line along the right and the Bell Telephone sign on front of the general store.
