Dayton Regional Transit Authority, N. Main St. between Mumma & Bond St., April 1990. Feeder tap on electric bus wire. Since there were no rails to act as a return circuit for the 600v. DC power current, there has to be a pair of overhead wires for each direction of travel. One is positive and the other negative, each tapped to a substation feeder wire every few hundred feet to minimize voltage drop.
