Occasionally street lighting wires through downtown business districts were underground as well. In this photo pin type insulators atop each pole support these lines on short stubby "brackets" that were either bolted onto the pole or welded as part of it. Utilities sometimes used porcelain insulators in blue, green or yellow glazes to identify such circuits.
