All Brooklyn, NY plant insulator production moved to the newly opened Old Bridge, N.J. plant in September 1906. The Brooklyn sand source yielded lighter colors as seen on the left. Dark cullet added to the glass batch at Brooklyn could yield dark colors, but this was not the norm.

The Old Bridge sand source resulted in darker colors. Few Old Bridge pieces approach the lighter shades of Brooklyn colors.

The 162.1 is a CD which (the colors seem to show us) was made at both plants. The Brooklyn colors are difficult to find though, which seems to indicate the 162.1 was likely one of the last pieces to be made at the end of the 1904-1905 burn which ended in June.
