In the joined photo, the left image is the original photo of the sales table at the Sacramento estate sale; the right side image is my purchase from the same sale-- mostly California baby signals. Other estate photos and online information suggested that this was the estate of a long-time Western Pacific Railroad employee and that hundreds of insulators were being offered for sale. Based on the locality and my knowledge of the insulator geography, I knew that Western Pacific bought out the Sacramento Northern Interurban and lots of smokey and purple California baby signals were used on the Sacramento Northern. The photo on the left side confirmed my suspicion as there were 28 smokey and purple Cal baby signals on the table of perhaps 100 insulators pictured, which meant there were at least 100 more insulators for sale that were not in the photograph. If you take a close look at the railroad engine in the photograph behind the insulators, you would see that it was Sacramento Northern train.

Unfortunately the estate liquidator updated his advertisement and spelled out the information I already deduced from the clues left in the original advertisement.
