Here is a closer view of a wonderful 69kv pole top adorned with CD 331 Pyrex-701 insulators. These were on a 69kv line in Massachusetts. To have seen these insulators in person was utterly spectacular! I took a bunch of photos (this was in 1994) and am sharing some of the best ones.

This line remained in service for a few more years. I have no idea what became of the insulators but I am pretty confident the line crew saved them during decommissioning.
