Finding insulators in the wild isn't for everybody but I believe it's a great way to experience history and enjoy the outdoors. There is a lot to see out there beyond our smartphones, TV's, and computers. These days I am content to just spend a day or two outside. If any insulators are found that's icing on the cake. Searching for glass like this has nothing to do with money or trying to find that next multi-thousand dollar piece in an auction. The payoff is instead experiencing different places and enjoying oneself without any monetary aspect attached to collecting. Hope you enjoy the pics. This is a statue dedicated to coal miners located outside the West Virginia state capitol in Charleston. I stopped here on my way to the tracks to walk around and take pictures.
