Found this pony at the Porterville Tailgater. A manufacturing process error "italicized" the letter embossing: "HAWLEY, PA USA", which I have only seen on Armstrong-embossed insulators. The italicized Armstrong embossing is intentional. The Harloe logo is normal. The top of the glass pour (bottom of the insulator) was still too hot (i.e. glass was too soft) when the mandrel was removed, twisting just the bottom of the insulator. This is quite evident when you see the side mold line which is not straight up and down but veers off in the direction of the twist. |
