Up for sale is a great pair of unusually-glazed and scarce OB cable tops. Having become a mud collector myself in the past few years, I can more than ever appreciate the significance of an unusual glaze, and these two are gorgeous! At left is an OB "teat rest" U-608 in a sort of rusty orange-brown mustardglaze. I understand that this early piece may be an Akron product from the earlier days of OB insulators. This style was used along many early Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario secondaries back in the day, but this is among the nicest glazed examples I've seen so far. It really glows in the sunlight, and the colour doesn't sufficiently show in the photo. At right is a nice sloppy, drippy grey-glazed example of an OB U-610A. It has some deep blue spots here and there but is overall a solid grey glaze.

Both pieces appear to be VNM. The "teat rest" at left has one partially chipped "teat", though I'm not convinced this sort of damage isn't from manufacturing. Both appear to have a very minor fleabite or two, and a light bit of wire groove rubbing, but are otherwise great.

Asking $25 USD plus shipping for the rust/mustard/orange U-608 "teat rest" at left, and $15 USD plus shipping for the grey U-610A at right. I'd take $30 USD for the pair. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
