Here's rare sim U-1929A porcelain dryspot insulator made by Vista Alegre in Portugal. Measures 3 5/8" W x 4 1/16" T. Made with the large threaded pinhole to accomodate the porcelain threaded pin with a canal going over the top to allow the electrical wire to be tucked underneath the insulator, thereby reducing leakages. Most likely an early copy of the scarce British Sinclair-Aitken insulator. (See CJOW for my article). In this offering the inner shed is not included- most of them break due to their fragile design. Only two known.

Another interesting note on this insulator is that it is stamped with APT inside a bell [id=529005412]. This is an acronym for Anglo Portuguese Telephone Company which was founded in 1887 with British capital, which explains the dependence on British style insulators in the early years of Portugal.

Condition is easily VNM with no chips or cracks and some light scratches. First email gets this rare dryspot insulator for only $300 plus shipping. Thanks
