Mary Ann Pike gave me this piece which I proudly display on the "fence" in my front yard. This insulator used to sit high on a pole in Hagerstown, MD, and so it was used to an ice storm or two every year. It had a secret for all those years it sat on its perch while it could hear people passing below grumbling about the freezing rain.

What was the secret? It told me when the sun came out and I had my camera in hand.
