With the track and signal improvements to the former ATSF passenger main (now BNSF's La Junta Subdivision) east of Pueblo, CO, and across Kansas, the old searchlight signals and pole line are rapidly coming down. East of Las Animas Junction, there's still active line for a few miles. It's almost all commons - aqua and clear 42s mixed with a few H.G. beehives here and there, as well as a couple muds on the power pins - but just seeing railroad line with three arms in use any more is enough of a rare sight. There are signs that this stretch may come down soon, though. Next to one of the new signals yesterday was a new pole with a meter base on it, ready to take commercial power from the line across the road.
