I own a fairly basic digital camera - it's pretty useless when it comes to taking close ups. This is a picture that I took trying to capture a 1/4" chunk of rock trapped inside a Brookfield beehive. Not too good, is it?

I stumbled on the idea of using a jewelers loupe (one of those little magnifying glass things) in front of the camera lens to magnify things a little bit. [id=51816492] to see the results.
