Many National attendees were aware that my Daughter Stephanie and I would be attempting to climb a 1000 foot wall called the Diamond about a week after the show. I am pleased to report that we made it! The climb turned out to be a 26 hour epic adventure and one of the hardest things I have ever done. At one point we were making moves on dead vertical rock with 2000 feet of exposure. For the entire route I had a miniature cobalt insulator in my pocket as a tribute to our hobby. This picture is taken on a small ledge near the top of the route.
