An ancient 22kV pole, erected in 1925, still stands tall high above US 34 in the Big Thompson Canyon. Not for much longer, however - this is operated by the Loveland, CO municipal utility and which is underway with rebuilding the distribution system in the canyon between Drake and the main system in Loveland. All the old 22kV, 4160V, and 2400V delta construction will be replaced with a 12.5kV distribution line built to 'raptor proof' specifications.

The original insulators appear to be Ohio Brass multiparts, but there were a number of 22kV poles that had U-816B 'Toughtype Hi-Top' insulators as early replacements (those I had seen in the air in the past are all gone)
