A while back a friend of mine told me a local auction had some insulators. We went down there and picked up a few interesting pieces. The most unusual was this Micarta Suspension piece. It is a cool looking piece and this one has great glass with good color. No idea how the piece was originally found but there is minimal damage to it. It has a chip on one skirt edge and some nibbling on the innermost skirt of the top sleeve and that's it. Considering it's size I'm impressed it's in such good shape. It does not appear to have ever been taken apart as the tar is all there and the internal pieces look to be in great shape. The piece came from an estate of a man who worked in the northern California area for many years. I really like the way it shines. I'm not a huge suspension collector so inquiries welcome. |
