This photo was labelled: "This photo, taken around 1900, shows a Seattle Electric Company crew taking a break while they string electrical wires in a Seattle neighborhood." However a closer look at the guy at the top looks like he is holding a bracket for an arc lamp (down near his knees). See next photo for close-up. Seattle Electric Co. became Seattle City Light in 1902, a name it still retains and is one of the few remaining independent single city electric companies in the country.
