The trouble is bringing home a van load of stuff every week or so! It's hard sometimes as a collector to see insulators; even the newer gray ones; get smashed up in the dumpster. These large stacks were part of a brand new 34kv gang operated switch that failed shortly after being put into service, and I guess they figured it was cheaper to scrap the whole thing and buy a new one, rather than replace a few parts.
