Dan Wagner and I drove to the Summit of Pikes Peak a few years back, and thought it only right to leave our mark. After a toast to Steve Blair, and the courage a shot of bourbon will give you at 14,000 ft, Dan hugged the end marker pole and placed a piece of common mud that he received from (now deceased) Dennis McHenry atop it. I seriously doubt the insulator lasted more than a day or two before going home with someone, but we thought it looked kind of cool when we left.
