Here is a picture of a place I dug back when I was around 14 or 15. It's where I actually kind of really got into collecting insulators. Behind my 10 acre property, my aunt owns roughly 300 acres of farm and forest where I spent most of my days wandering as a kid. There was an old town by the name of Decker Hollow nestled in the woods by the creek but it had long since been abandoned. I sometimes found the odd bottle or rusty steel but one day I came across a hemi 19. After scrating around I must have found at least 600+ insulators with many different cds such as 154s, 102s, 109s, 104s etc. There were some real heartbreaks like a dome embossed 13 diamond 102 and some nice no name canadian 102s. Anyways I'm planning on going back after some time and clearing the rest of the dump out and I'll keep you posted. |
