I decided to try a little something different---a streetlight from my old, childhood neighborhood. This one is a recreation of a 1950's General Electric Form 79, mounted on a scroll arm from the 1920's. These old incandescent fixtures served well, until mercury-vapor became the standard, in the early-to-mid 60's. To keep it somewhat insulator related, there are two 1.75 inch spools, holding the open-wire service drop. Some of the details on this image, though, do not bear close inspection. I originally did not intend to zoom-in this close. |
