Fred M. Locke supplied most of the insulators for the earliest trolley lines in KC in the 1898-1904 era .

Here are two versions of the early under-glaze marked Fred Locke U-939d likely dating from 1898 and 1899 respectively .and two later U-447 units from the 1902-04 era. One can only dream of all the interesting insulators that once adorned urban street railway systems throughout the us in the early 1900's ... Most of which disappeared long before anyone ever thought of them as collectible.
