With the continued record warm weather around here, my insulator hunting friend Jim Berg and I decided to go check out the old C&O Railroad that runs through Indiana. Can't believe its been nearly 20 years the last time I picked this line. This shot shows some of the common insulators we were able to spin off the poles. Big problem was all the water along the ROW which made it hard to get half the insulators. Seems like the CD 162.1 (Top Hats) were the ones surrounded by water. I was able to find my first ever NO 48 CD 152 Hoop Skirt. The NO 40's were somewhat common along he old Pennsy around the Fort Wayne, IN area. Close up of some of the better insulators.
