Up for sale is a nifty, German-made U-2531 marked for Hermsdorf-Schomberg. This company made a pile of porcelain goods for the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario back in the earlier part of the 20th century, and they can still be found scattered around Ontario, often still doing their jobs some 70-80 years after they were installed. This particular style turns up fairly often, but the blue colour it sometimes occurs in is no where near as common as CP-made blues of similar size. On top of that, this example demonstrates a rarity: a spelling mistake on a porcelain insulator. The incuse on one of its ears very clearly shows a "G" in place of the "C" in HESCHO. I've had a couple dozen of the regular "C" units over the years, but only three of these mis-spelled ones.

Note that Bob Berry has a photo of one posted on the NIA website: http://nia.org/general/pifous/text/u2531_canada.htm

The condition of this piece is good overall, with no visible chips or scrapes. It has some aluminum wire rubs which could likely be removed using a lye bath (I'm soaking it right now), but it's otherwise great-looking.

How about $14.00 US plus shipping for this odd piece. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
