Shown are two Westinghouse D2A watthour meters, one with a cyclometer register and the other with the pointer type register. The D2 series of watthour meters were the first to use magnetic suspension called "Magnethrust" for the load disc. This eliminated the ball and cup jewel bearings which occasionally needed replacing.
