Spotted this on my local paper website. This is a photo taken along Mapleton Avenue in the former Brownwood subdivision of Baytown, Texas. Check out the cool buck-arm pole to the right. This is classic HL&P construction. The dead-end disks on the jumper wires were likely Locke or Victor disks.

In the 1970s, this neighborhood began to have trouble with subsidence. On August 18, 1983, Hurricane Alicia devastated the subdivision, and the wrecked homes were subsequently demolished. The land is now the Baytown Nature Center. The homes and poles in this picture are long gone.
