I received an insulator today that most would expect to find on the FREE table. However, it is an unlisted variant of the Hemingray C.S.A. What initially piqued my interest was the fact that it had a 1939 date (no dots) and the CSA appeared with no periods. I knew that the CSOs were made in 1939/40 and the earliest C.S.A.'s I own were made in 1940. After some additional inspection, I realized that the font face, size and placement (on both sides) matched that of the CSO. One thing that sets it apart from both the C.S.A.'s and the CSOs is that it lacks the inner skirt ridge found on all of my other (hundreds of) straight-sided Hemi 128s. Would love to find another like this in better condition. If you have one of these guys with the 39 date, please drop me a note! |
