I've owned this piece since the late 1980s when I was fortunate to purchase it from John and Carol McDougald via one of their sales lotteries. This piece is in fantastic condition...the only thing keeping it from being mint are a few teeny flakes around the upper wire groove...which are very difficult to notice. Otherwise I'd grade it VVNM. It has some curvy annealing lines slanting down from its pinhole as you may note in the photos I'm posting. The glass is nice and transparent and the purple color is the darkest I've ever seen among the marked CEW's...including ones that have been photographed elsewhere. Given there are only maybe a dozen marked CEW's in purple located to date, I can safely say this one ranks as the best or at least second runner-up! Asking $7,500 and that includes shipping.
