My longtime neighbor and fellow collector Harold Skeins Sr. passed away today at the age of 78. He was killed this morning when a vehicle crashed into a local McDonalds and hit him as he enjoyed his morning coffee.
Harold was a lineman for C&P Telephone and later Bell Atlantic for 34 years, retiring in 1993.
He was the biggest mentor to myself and my late brother Gregory. Harold was one of two people that got Gregory initially involved in the hobby.
He is pictured here in 2006 bringing some goodies from his collection to Gregory.
Harold leaves behind his wife Pat and daughter Becky along with several grandchildren. His son Harold Skeins Jr. passed away at the age of 53 of a heart problem in March 2014.
