Kevin Lawless continued the tradition of creating first day covers for the National and having them postmarked on site by an official USPS worker. Kevin worked on the design of the post card and Bill Meier created the custom cancel, which is required to be approved by the USPS. They are postmarked N.I.A. STATION / MARLBOROUGH, MA / JULY 14, 1995 These covers are most unique in that rather than all the covers having the same stamps, they have seven variations, each containing a stamp for each New England state. They have Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island. The practice of making National show first day covers stopped many years ago. Here is a rare chance to get a bit of insulator philatelic history! Click to zoom in on a stamp. $15 ppd for all 7 as one group. Please supply your USPS shipping address in your first reply. Thanks! |
