Here's my first real good find of the summer, a nice 143.5. We found it in a shop we frequent right in the center of the Moosehead lake tourism hub: Greenville, Maine. The store is right in the center of town, and everyone that visits Greenville goes in that place. The front half is like a gift shop with modern knickknacks and taxidermy. In the back is where my dad and I go, full of antiques and other things. The ceiling is decorated with a web of Knob and Tube wiring, you ought to see it. We are very good friends with the two owners, who always look out for stuff my dad or I might like. Sadly, he didn't check with me before he set this one on the insulator rack. I walked towards where the insulators usually are, and I spotted something unusual, but I just assumed it was a beehive that looked different because of the shadows. I got closer, and then I started sprinting the remaining ten feet. I picked it up and told my dad what I had found, he got pretty excited too. Also was a green aqua 188 with a neat looking underpour. I was very happy the rest of the car ride from camp. It's nice to get a nice rare piece of glass without getting it from another person in the hobby, that's what I like most about it. |
