The power company in my area is getting ready to rebuild a long-abandoned 4160V circuit to 13.8kV. One of the poles along the route was cut down and parts of the crossarm were at the pole's base. I managed to spin these two U-484s out of the arm as the nut that held the pin in place on the arm was loose. I should have thought to save the other nut and retaining washer but I lost them in the grass and this was at a fairly visible intersection. A third pin had an obvious step in the shaft about halfway between the bottom of the insulator and the collar but it was still firmly stuck in the arm. |
