Up for grabs is a strange style of black plastic telegraph insulator. These are occasionally found along Canadian Pacific lines here in Canada. They resemble a Continental R-4, but made of a black, PVC pipe sort of plastic material. They have a deeper wire groove, a more rounded dome top, and a sloping, outwards-pointed second petticoat. This example, like all others I've seen, has circumferential rings all over that give an appearance of the mould having been "turned". A mould line on both sides of the skirt extends up to the upper wire ridge. These seem to be scarce, and I've had much interest in the few examples I have turned up. This example has a few dome scratches from having been pecked at by birds (or maybe something else). Otherwise, as plastic insulators normally are, it's in solid shape. I'm asking $20.00 US plus shipping for this weird thing. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
