Here is PPL and Amtrak's Conestoga Step Up substation at the Safe Harbor Dam in Lancaster PA. The trees have recently been cut down in front of it giving me a full view. This is one of the most impressive substation I know of in my opinion. It steps up 25hz traction power generated at the dam from 13kv to 138kv, which is transmitted to Amtrak's Northeast and Keystone Corridors. This was placed in service in 1935 by the Pennsylvania Railroad and is still largely original.
