The joke is on me. On a recent trip to Atlanta, our first holiday in 17 years, I came across a booth in a large mall that had an actual collection of insulators for sale. $5 each with a few exceptions of course. An uncommon stroke of good luck for me. I noticed a few common English porcelains among them this short, fat signal. One I had never noticed before marked GPO - definitely a British mark. I know this guy who collects English pieces and likes white porcelain to boot, so naturally I grabbed this odd ball one for him. Did I forget to mention I am at that awkward stage in life where I should be wearing glasses but try not to? If I had I would have noticed the complete marking was GPCo, a common American piece of mud. and to make this even more of a joke on me, I was so excited to get this rare gem for my buddy, I forgot to pick up the GREEN CD 162.4. You guessed it, $5. |
