This raised bar Canpac 143 was found in the location of the original telegraph line of the Bay of Quinte Railway. With the original iron tie wire still on it was unfortunately in a few pieces. The CPR had no association with the B of Q other than running rights over the K &P from Harrowsmith into Kingston. It appears that the original 1884 telegraph line had two wires and from what I've found, used SB and RB NECAN 143 MLOD. I wonder if the same glass company that made the SB ones also made the raised bar Canpacs and one inadvertently ended up in the order. It's the only one I've found on this line so far. |
