Up for grabs this arvo is a nice pair of exceptional Brookfield CD 164s. The example at left is a [020], with a small "00" embossed on the dome and nothing in the rear. This one is an excellent amber-swirled throughout the entire wire groove and right-hand side of the dome. The left-hand crown remains more or less aqua colour, giving an unusually nice two-tone colouration to this piece. The example at right is a handsome plain aqua [040], with NEW YORK on the back and a crudely scrawled backwards '5' on the dome top. Overall air of crudity, as is normal with Brookfield pieces, but this one is actually fairly clean. A couple milky goobers - one in the right-hand upper wire ridge and another in the very left side of the front skirt, and a nice bubble in the rear skirt, but nothing exceptional. The really awesome part of this one, apart from the tougher-to-find embossing style, is the condition. The condition of the two-tone example at left is good, with a total of 8 partially nicked drips (none completely missing), and a shallow bruise that spans three drip points width right behind the right-hand mould line. This one displays nearly mint. The NEW YORK-marked example at right is VNM, with only two drips with the very, very tip nicked off. There is also a very, very shallow crescent-shaped bruise in the very middle of the wire groove near the right-hand mould line. Doesn't travel anywhere, though, and is hardly worth mentioning. Apart from that I can't see anything wrong with it. Two-toned example is SOLD. $10.00 plus shipping for the aqua. I'd do $26.00 US plus shipping for the pair.
